GIS is an important element in providing answers and alternatives to the major policy questions facing state decision-makers. Defining data requirements is necessary for the efficient, coordinated use of GIS. This group of projects will develop and implement a process to identify data requirements which will consider:

• (1) overlapping elements between policy questions,
• (2) recruiting of the best experts in each subject area,
• (3) knowledge of existing framework projects, and
• (4) exploiting the best funding and coordinating solutions.
