How do you get you from where you are now, to standards based, spatial data descriptions on the Internet - in one day?

What??
A productive, hands on, information packed workshop where you roll-up your sleeves and create FGDC compliant data descriptions of your selected data layers. Then post them to the Internet for access through the NSDI Clearinghouse Gateway.

What Do We Get Out of It?
Tools, training, and metadata service on the Washington State Clearinghouse server. Learn more about how the Clearinghouse could become a significant component of your public and/or professional spatial data access strategy.

Price of Admission?
Organizations agree to contribute to the information content of the Washington State Clearinghouse Node by bringing some basic spatial data descriptions to the workshop and posting them to the clearinghouse.

Who Should Attend?
Representatives from Federal, State, Local, Tribal and Educational entities that maintain spatial data about Washington State.

Time & Place?
The workshop is being held on June 29th, 1999 from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. It is located at Grays Harbor Community College in Aberdeen, WA.

How Do We Get Involved?

  1. Register for the Workshop with Denise Ertman at (360) 902-3508.
  2. Read through the Pre-Workshop Information Packet (obtained after registration).
  3. Gather data description information for 4 or 5 data layers you maintain. Preferably the descriptions will be in an electronic * .txt format.
  4. Bring descriptive information to the Workshop (see 'Price of Admission')
